War is almost always about land. Jesus says the gentle will get it all in the end, and he invites us to join his military of meekness.

Life is loss. And yet, Jesus says in his kingdom, when we grieve honestly we will be comforted and defended.

The kingdom of heaven is here and now and open to all, especially to those who have had their sources of security stripped away.

Jesus ascends the mountain and, like a new Moses, begins to lead God's people out of slavery and into a new covenant community.

The Sermon on the Mount is the the bullseye of Christian discipleship. It is God's "START HERE" for every seeker of truth.
